Snapmaker U1 down 30 hours of print time
My snapmaker u1 developed a clog while printing when the runout sensor did not detect a lack of filament. I was unable to clear the jam. Removing the toolhead, i noticed a spring and a washer rattling around theough a side window and was advised to disassemble the toolhead. The toolhead is a mess of wires and differing sized screws. It is also very fragile with delicate plastic parts. Screwing in the cooling fan, the plastic brakets broke off. I glued the cooling fan in place, but was unable to screw in the left top fastener for the extruder - the screw stopped several mm short and so i could not close the back cover. I replaced the screw with one of identical diameter but a bit shorter, but somehow, a crack developed at the side of the plastic housing the extruder. We’re talking 30 hours of total print time here and my printer is completely unusable.
