Title: Extremely Disappointing Refund Policy, Booking Date Errors, and Customer Service
I am extremely disappointed with Agoda's service, particularly its flight booking process, refund handling, and customer support. First, there was a serious issue with the travel date displayed in the application. The month was set to December when it should have been October. The intended travel date was 26 October, but the booking showed 26 December instead. This is a major and frustrating issue that raises concerns about the accuracy and reliability of Agoda's booking system. Second, I booked a flight with Garuda Indonesia and expected a fair and transparent refund based on the applicable refund eligibility. However, out of approximately IDR 4.7 million that I paid, I received only IDR 948,000 back. This is extremely disappointing. Customers deserve a clear explanation of the refund calculation and should not lose a substantial amount of money without proper clarification. Third, Agoda's customer service is incredibly frustrating. It is very difficult to reach a real human agent because the system relies heavily on automated bots. The responses are repetitive and unhelpful, and there seems to be no straightforward way to escalate the issue to someone who can actually resolve it. When customers face booking errors and significant financial losses, they need accessible human support, transparent refund policies, and an effective complaint resolution process—not endless conversations with a chatbot. I strongly advise other travelers to think twice before using Agoda for flight bookings. My experience has been deeply frustrating, from the incorrect travel month displayed in the application to the disappointing refund amount and the difficulty of contacting a real customer service representative. Agoda needs to take responsibility for these issues, improve the accuracy of its booking system, make refund calculations transparent, and provide customers with easy access to human support. I would not recommend Agoda based on this experience. Please be careful before booking through this platform.
