Steep airport baggage charges after prepaid purchases close
Batik Air’s baggage policy leaves a very sour taste. Advance baggage purchases close 12 hours before check-in, and after that you’re left facing airport charges of around AUD $18–20 PER KILO. Just 10 kg extra could cost $180–200. Closing access to prepaid baggage and then charging such steep airport rates is incredibly poor customer service. This deadline and the financial consequences should be made impossible to miss when booking. A cheap-looking fare quickly loses its appeal when you’re faced with charges like these. Deeply frustrating, terrible value, and a strong reason to think twice before booking with Batik Air again.
