Agoda

⭐ Extremely Disappointing Experience…

⭐ Extremely Disappointing Experience with Agoda – What Is the Point of a Booking Confirmation? I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with Agoda’s service. I made my hotel booking on 16 October for a stay on 18 October. I received a booking confirmation from Agoda and trusted that my accommodation was secured. However, what happened when I arrived at the hotel was completely unacceptable. I reached the hotel at approximately 3:30 PM on 18 October, expecting a smooth check-in. Instead, the hotel staff informed me that they had not received my booking confirmation from Agoda. Imagine arriving at your hotel after making a reservation in advance, only to be told that your booking cannot be found! I immediately contacted Agoda’s customer service for assistance. I was told that they would contact the hotel and asked to wait. I waited for more than 15 minutes, wasting my valuable time while standing there, uncertain about where I would stay. When Agoda finally called me back, I received an even more frustrating response: my booking had been cancelled because the hotel was fully booked. Seriously, Agoda? How can this happen? I booked the hotel two days in advance, received a booking confirmation, and travelled to the property believing that my accommodation was secured. Only after I physically arrived at the hotel was I informed that my booking had been cancelled because the property was full. What is the purpose of issuing a booking confirmation if customers cannot rely on it? A booking confirmation should give customers confidence that their accommodation has been reserved. If a hotel is fully booked, why is the customer allowed to make a reservation and receive confirmation in the first place? And if there is a problem with the booking, why was I not informed before arriving at the hotel? Customers use Agoda to save time, reduce stress, and arrange their travel with peace of mind. Instead, my experience caused unnecessary frustration, wasted my time, and left me in an extremely uncomfortable situation at the very moment I expected to check in. The worst part is that nobody should have to discover that their accommodation is unavailable only after arriving at the property. Customers make plans, arrange transportation, and organise their schedules based on the confirmation they receive. Agoda needs to understand that a hotel booking is not just a transaction on a screen; it is a commitment that customers depend on. Agoda, please explain how a confirmed booking can suddenly become a cancelled booking simply because the hotel is full. Why was I not notified earlier? Why was I allowed to believe that my accommodation was secured? And what responsibility does Agoda take when a customer is left stranded because of a booking failure? I strongly urge Agoda to improve its communication with hotel properties, ensure that booking confirmations are reliable, and notify customers immediately if their reservations cannot be honoured. This experience has seriously damaged my trust in Agoda. A booking confirmation should mean something. Customers deserve transparency, reliability, and proper support—not last-minute surprises and wasted time. My advice to other travellers: do not assume that receiving a booking confirmation means everything is guaranteed. Double-check directly with the hotel before travelling, because my experience with Agoda has shown me how stressful things can become when a confirmed reservation falls apart. Agoda, this experience was completely unacceptable.
