Agoda Cancelled My Booking Hours Before My Flight – Over LKR 112,000 Lost! Extremely disappointed with Agoda! I booked a 15-night stay in Kuala Lumpur (3–18 October 2026) for my husband, brother-in-law, and myself, paying LKR 164,277.74 more than 20 days in advance. Just a few hours before our flight, Agoda cancelled our confirmed booking, leaving us stressed and worried about arriving in a foreign country without accommodation. I had specific requirements for the location, a 2–3 bedroom apartment, and budget. With no suitable alternative arranged by Agoda, I was forced to book another apartment for LKR 265,423.74, costing me an additional LKR 101,146. This money came directly from our holiday spending budget. To make matters worse, I received only LKR 153,154.56 of my original LKR 164,277.74 payment, leaving a further LKR 11,123.18 shortfall due to possible exchange rate differences or bank charges. Agoda offered just USD 48 in AgodaCash and is now directing me to my bank regarding the refund difference, despite promising to review my bank statements. I am seeking LKR 112,269.18 in reimbursement. This experience caused unnecessary financial loss, emotional stress, and ruined the start of our carefully planned holiday. A confirmed, prepaid booking should mean something. Very disappointing customer service and a complete loss of trust in Agoda.
