Endless consumerist hellscape
I can accept that cases are expensive, really. The constant poor tax of mediating expenses is everywhere, make the choice of drop fifty on a decent case or cross your fingers and hope you don’t have an accident and have to drop a thousand on a replacement phone instead. The thing is, I, a person who has to make choices between ac and food every few months, cannot imagine a market looking at something like Phone cases and go “Ah yes! This obviously a lifestyle choice!” Getting begged for permission to save my information at every step, getting a dozen ad’s and a “how’d we do on the transaction you completed by yourself, by the way did you know we have an app” has done exactly one thing, and it’s make me doubt my purchase. If the expectation is that I would want to buy another case, my assumption is because the case is going to be bad, not the reverse. Filling my inbox with a handful of extra uhm-actually-also is not encouraging. Here’s hoping the case is decent, settling to buy a case was already anxiety inducing, what a headache.
