Really Bad Experience
I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this institution. I applied for a loan and was initially told that I had been approved. However, after I went to the office, I was informed that they could not provide the loan because two of my summer payments were lower than usual. I explained that I am a teacher who receives a salary throughout the entire year, including the summer. Those two payments were temporarily lower because I had been sick during the school year; they did not represent a permanent reduction in my regular salary. Unfortunately, the staff did not properly consider or verify my explanation or even offer an alternative. What makes the situation even more frustrating is that they had already made a hard inquiry on my credit report. I had also paid off a previous loan with this institution just one week earlier, demonstrating my reliability and positive payment history. They should have reviewed and clarified my income situation before approving the application and affecting my credit score. My advice to other applicants is to bring your recent pay stubs and ask the institution to verify your income before allowing it to make a hard inquiry on your credit report. This experience was frustrating, inconvenient, and handled poorly.
