Best for under $79k income, no investments
Great relief to find 1040.com FreeFile after TurboTax appeared to require me to have Windows 11 (which my computer can't handle). Only downside was that 1040.com won't search and upload interest/capital gains/losses info, so I had to enter it myself. Also, initially 1040.com wouldn't let me file even though I expected to pay the $34.99 fee after my AGI came in unexpectedly (to me) high. But this was March, a busy time. so I figured I'd pay the tax due, which I did, and come back now in May to actually file the return. That worked, 1040.com let me pay the fee (which is much less than TurboTax fee) and file by e-file. So I'm a satisfied customer.
