It’s legit!
My sister-in-law tried to get me to sign up a few years back and now I’m kicking myself for all the money I essentially threw away. I have been using Rakuten for a little over a year now and I have received several hundred dollars back. I have a bad habit of using it mainly during the holidays, which is when I’ve seen the best cashback deals. It makes me more inclined to spend more money on gifts than I normally would, when I know that I will be getting cash back. I bought my husband 3 pairs of jeans from American Eagle (all on sale for $35-40 each) and earned $11.70 in cash back. I now have the extension added to my phone so hopefully, I won’t forget to use it when I randomly make online purchases outside of the holiday season. The downside is that it doesn’t work with Amazon and I have not figured out how to use it (or if I even can), with the Walmart app. The upside is that if I have something specific that I’m looking to purchase, I can look that item up on Rakuten to help me find the best deal financially. Sometimes cashback is a better deal than a sale at another retailer.
