Regarding raw DNA data access, while customers do own their DNA information, we currently do not offer raw data downloads. This decision is intentional and centered on data privacy and protection. Many third-party platforms that accept raw DNA files engage in data mining or secondary data use, sometimes without clear consumer consent. Our goal is to protect customers’ genetic information and our proprietary algorithms. That said, we understand why customers want access to their raw data, and this is something our leadership team continues to evaluate for the future with appropriate safeguards in place. As for the Famous People report, we understand why seeing identical famous matches across two unrelated accounts would raise serious concerns. To clarify, these reports are generated based on deep ancestral haplogroup patterns (maternal and paternal line markers), not recent genealogical relationships. Because many individuals share ancient haplogroups, it is possible for different people even unrelated individuals to be associated with the same historical or notable figures at a high-level lineage context.
