Gary, we hear your frustration and this definitely isn’t the experience we want anyone to have. It sounds like a few different things stacked up here between bolt access, alignment, and the alternator clearance. That’s not typical for this setup, especially on a standard 351W, so we’d really like to take a closer look at what’s going on with your specific combination. A couple notes that may help others reading this: Our brackets are designed around specific pulley spacing and component combinations, and mixing parts or variations in water pumps, pulleys, or accessories can affect alignment. Especially for Ford stuff. That said, if you were told over the phone that your exact setup would work, we want to make that right. On the install side, the lower water pump bolts can be tight depending on the pump and timing cover casting, but it should not require modifying tools or excessive workaround like you described. We’d really appreciate the chance to fix this for you. If you can reach out to us directly at [email protected] with photos of your setup and what components you’re running, our team will go through it with you and get you a clear path forward.
