Epubor

Converted Skeptic

I looked far and wide for a way to convert one of my Amazon ebooks to pdf. The challenge was with the KFX DRM. I struck out repeatedly on various sites & software that overpromised and didn't deliver, wasting a lot of time and patience. I then happened on Epubor and, armed with low expectations due to the disappointments I had been experiencing, took a stab at the free trial. It worked well and fast the first time out, in an incredibly simple drag & drop interface. I'm now eager to see how the full version works (the free trial only processes 20% of the book), especially trying it in output formats besides just PDF. Well done, Epubor!

I recommend it

I really like it! It saved my life because all my university books are in this format and I can "crack" them in that way.

This is a great software

This is a great software. If you want to make it easier to read and access your ebooks, then Epubor is for you. I personally like it because it can convert my acsm files to PDF. The program has a nice interface that is easy for anyone to use. The only downside is that a trial of this program won't give you full access to a file you converted. It'll cut it off to encourage you to pay for the license fee. But I understand why the programmers designed it this way.

Simple and easy converting software!

I was surprised by its simplicity and no hidden steps to convert a file. The guides on their website really explain very well how to convert some file, it is really awesome! I also like that Epubor gives you a chance to get a free license code for their softwares by performing some little task. However, there was this very frustrating thing in the free trial version after converting my file, where I only got 20% of my file which really made me dislike Epubor because when downloading the setup file for the software I wasn't notified I will get only 20% of my converted file, so I think they should let their users know about this before they try the Epubor software for free.

Great & easy to use

It is quite easy to use and conversion is fast. It helps me to remove drm so I can read on another device. I have just used for 2 days but so far it is good. Although it allows you to get only 20% of the converted text.

Epubor misrepresents their expensive software as free

I wanted to share a Kindle book I had purchased with my spouse, and found it was locked in my computer. Searching on the Internet I found Epubor that seemed to have what I needed to convert the book to PDF. I landed on the page that offered "Kindle to PDF Converter Free software" "For Mac." I clicked the button, "Download Free Version:2.0.2.7." When I ran the program nothing would happen until I bought a license for $19.99. When I read more, I found that the license was for only 1 year. I think they wanted about $40 for an unlimited license. This isn't upselling, it is misrepresentation. So, I didn't buy anything, instead I've deleted every trace of Epubor from my computer. Be Warned!

It works like a charm

It works like a charm, easy to remove DRM and convert Audible to MP3 and remove DRM on E-books within minutes, just drag and drop, clean interface powerful functions. Free trial will convert partial Audible or partial E-book, once you purchase and register the software you will get full functionality. It would be better if it was a all in one software package and not one for E-books and one for Audio books. I found it easy to set up, does what its supposed to do. at a reasonable price, could be lower, as there are other channels to obtain a free licence which makes it well worth it. well done Epubor

Really simple to use and so quick

Really simple to use and so quick! :)

It doesn't work...

Once it worked, but

Once it worked, but next day when I tried to use Audible converter, error message poped up. "Register failed." What? I already registered before, and it did work. Stupid company made stupid products, so disappointed.

So easy and simple to use to get kindle…

So easy and simple to use to get kindle books onto iPhone for reading!

WARNING FOR "FREE TRILE"

WARNING FOR "FREE TRILE" Free trile allows you to convert only 20% of the book, which I learned only after spending few hours on converting my kindle liblary, to then find out that I have to do it all over again. This isn't mentioned anywhere during download and is the worst scum I have seen for years.

Easy to operate

Usage is simple. Other converters are difficult to use and cannot be split. This is easy and easy to operate. I was happy if it was a little cheaper.

Completely useless, don't bother

Went through the hassle of downloading and installing the Epubor just for it to download 3 pages "from the book" which all said refresh your browser. No help, completely useless, DO NOT waste your time.

Free trial isnt really a trial...

Free trial isnt really a trial... I was unhappy when trying out the free trial. I assumed that, like most free trials, it would let me convert and send a full copy of an ebooks to my e-reader. Or at least a portion of it in the format I was looking for. Dont waste your time unless you're prepared to pay for the software. The trial only gives you 20% of the book, and it's in TXT format! No use to anybody. Since I can't judge for myself whether or not the software works, I'm unlikely to spend money on it. I feel like the "free trial" is therefore misleading. Received an email from their customer services after I contacted them to say this and they just offered me 10% off the purchase. That's great, but I still think a free trial should accurately demonstrate the capabilities of the software - otherwise what's the point; what am I even trialling?

Buyer Beware - Use .aax format not .aa format

Buyer beware - After a month's labor converting all the books in my Audible Library (>250), I discovered that the SW cuts off the last 3-18 sec of some chapters. After communicating with a tech rep I was told that this sometimes happens with .aa files but not with .aax. This work-around does appear to work for the .aax files I checked. So if you have your Audible files in .aa format you'll have to re-download them as .aax files then convert them to mp3 files (Don't know if this is a problem for m4b files.) The tech rep got a bit sassy when I asked for a partial refund. Sorry I invested in this company's SW. Slower products from other companies are likely more reliable. Addition: Recently discovered that the SW cannot handle the .aax files if the titles are too long - above about 100 characters. Just copy the Audible files to a new folder, edit out all those crazy characters Audible puts at the end of their files and convert the files with the shortened titles. If you want all those characters then buy better SW.

Purchased a lifetime license but when…

Purchased a lifetime license but when applying an upgrade was told needed to purchase new license even though I have copies of license info. Emailed copies of purchase info. but has been over 2 weeks and all I received was canned responses no real help on this issue. There is no real support or helpful responses delivered within 24 hours as stated. I have told everyone not to bother with this company and since I am responsible for computer and software purchases for my company I will not purchase anything from them again and mentioning that at the tech conferences I attend.

I would give this NO Stars if it was an option! BEWARE!

If there was an option for no stars Id use it! This company is awful ....give it a wide berth. First of all they do NOT tell you the free trial version only converts 20% OF A BOOK OR NOT EVEN THAT! Just to give an example of how it works they say! Then when you download and pay for the full version you find your faced with hours of technical issues because its not compatible with the latest version of either Kindle or other Ereaders and even if you do manage to try converting it, then doesn't work. I found I couldn't even see books in the application and they would not convert the ones that were there. Trying to get my money back was the next issue as they just ignore you! 5 emails go unanswered - live web chat does not work so frankly its a big sham. Ive reported them to my bank and will do what it takes to get my money back. Save yourself the wasted time and effort!
