I booked a one-week intensive beginner’s course. It was really worth it and I do feel it did push me to improve a lot. My teachers (Sara in the morning and Lilia in the afternoon) were very supportive, made the class interesting and challenging. And this with a lot of humor and charm. The school has as well organized activities which you can join eg roasted duck dinner, and there is always someone to have a chat or ask for help to navigate Beijing.
I just finished my four week program in Chengdu and it exceeded my expectations by far! Before coming here I was worried about how to socialize with all the people and staff. Turns out they all were easy going and always in for a joke! By the time the first week had passed I already became friends with my Alex (my teacher), Pan Pan and Stiles. Later on I was also introduced to Wuyi. Alex is a great teacher with even better teaching skills. Whenever I didn‘t understand something or struggled following she’d always manage to explain it in a way I‘d understand. My chinese has progressed a lot in the past four weeks and time really flew by. Before coming to Chengdu I wouldn‘t have thought learning chinese could be such fun and easy. Alex, Pan Pan, Stiles and Wuyi are really funny and it motivated me to talk more to them using the chinese I had just been taught. Whenever we went out for lunch or having a safari day (lessons being taken outside) I made unforgettable experiences and learned more about Chengdu‘s culture and customs. Thus not only progressing my chinese skills but also my understanding of different habits. Chengdu‘s food is great and I enjoyed most of the dishes. However it might be a bit too spicy for foreigners as they tend to have a lower spice tolerance :P In my free time I got to discover local places thanks to Alex‘s tips! Pan Pan always had funny stories to tell which broadened my Vocabulary by quite a bit. Stiles talked to me about similar interest. Thus also helping with attaining a wider range of vocabularies. Wuyi was easy to talk to no matter the topic. In total I‘d rate my experience in Chengdu 5 out of 5 stars. There was nothing really that I could complain about. The food was yummy, my host family was welcoming and kind, my newly made friends were funny&easy going and my teacher had not only good teaching skills but also the same humor as me. Now thinking back it is sad I couldnt stay longer… I will definitely be coming back to LTL Chengdu if I get the opportunity!

I spent 2 weeks in Beihai （北海）this summer studying Chinese and it was one of the best classes I've ever had. The teacher and the school absolutely listened to what I wanted and needed - as I studied Chinese in university my level is high enough to qualify for single class only and my wish was to train my speaking ability again and to revise a lot! And that's what we did - 4h of speaking Chinese every day! In addition I really liked the overall atmosphere at the school, the staff are all very kind and fun, organizing activities for the students and helping them whenever they have any questions or needs. In terms of location - the school is located conveniently in the city center. Beihai is not a big city, so public transportation is a bit of a hassle but it's still manageable even for those who don't dare to rent an e-Scooter (like me, lol). You will be able to enjoy a nice beach with seaside, seafood and other local specialities there. :-)

My Story (我的 故事) Only 2 weeks ago I arrived in Cheng Du (成 都) Airport with some trepidation. After two weeks of Chinese language classes, I am very happy with my experience. The way the lessons are taught, as well as the content of the learning book were far more than I expected. The book selected matched my needs and lessons didn’t just focus on learning the language, but also on useful expressions and situations that can be applied in everyday life. Content learned was used almost daily to speak to hotel staff, and to nearby shop attendants. Much credit must go to my teacher (老师) Miss Styles who executed classes brilliantly answering all my questions. Credit must also go to the administration with Miss Ilaria Minopoli and Ms Ying Fang who arranged everything else. The practical approach has made learning Chinese both enjoyable and meaningful, and for me wanting to learn more. I take with me a reading book gifted (礼物) to me, and some fond memories. Was here for 3 Weeks in Beijing studying Chinese for 20h per week. It was pretty cool and hlped me a lot when speaking. I like the focus on the actually spoken everyday chinese than on textbook chinese nobody really uses. The only think i could complain about is maybe the price cause it is a bit costly, and additionally the actual teachers as well as the homestay providers get only a small share from what we pay for it. But besides that i think its very cool and memorible experience. The events are also really cool and it is easy to make friends here. I highly recommend! Also 王老师 (summer) did a very good job💪

I am a person with Chinese ethnic origin but born and raised in Canada. Before studying with LTL, I could listen, speak, read, and write a bit, but it was far from fluent. I could speak to people in Chinese a bit, but I often felt insecure and embarrassed by my bad Chinese. I decided to spend 5 weeks with LTL. I spent the first week in Beijing to get transitioned into China, and then 4 more weeks in Chengde. I really enjoyed my time in Chengde. Land-wise, the city is quite small and very walkable. Everything is within a 30 minute walk. Didi rides are fairly cheap as well (around ￥5-10 a trip). Everyone I met here is friendly. I have been able to chat with the locals in Chengde and make friends. People say that Chengde is more slow-paced, which I can definitely feel in comparison to Beijing. I really enjoy a slower paced environment because I think that life shouldn't feel rushed! The city is still very lively with a lot of people around you. Zhongwen's family has been an absolute pleasure to live with and I often played with her kids in the evenings. Zhongwen has given me plenty of opportunities to connect with locals. Additionally, my teacher I-da Li has been a pleasure to work with. I-da is not afraid to correct my mistakes (accent and grammar), which I really appreciate because it helps me sound more Chinese! My confidence in my Mandarin has improved a lot. I find myself surprised that I can hold conversations. Even though I'm still not 100% fluent, I feel like this experience has given me the tools and confidence that I need to continue to improve my fluency.

I participated in a two week program at LTL Chengdu, and I had an amazing time while learning a lot! My instructor Wei was super friendly and dedicated, and I could not have imagined a better teacher. She tailored her instruction specifically to my goals and used real world situations to teach so I could have a more immersive and rich experience. Not only did my Chinese language skills improve, but I also learned a lot about the local culture, food, and lifestyle — things I could never get a chance to experience in a traditional classroom. I highly recommend LTL Chengdu and my teacher Wei!

I studied Mandarin in LTL Chengdu for around 2 months starting with no prior knowledge of the language. But after my time here studying with Guo Xin Yue in one-on-one lessons, I have built a strong foundation in the language and can now communicate with other Chinese people and experience rapid progress in continuing to learn the language. Another aspect of LTL that I enjoyed was that there was a good balance between studying and also exploring and learning about the area, with people like Ying laoshi, Ilaria, Giulia, and others being responsible. I would recommend LTL for anyone who is interested in learning and immersing themselves in the language.

I absolutely loved my time at LTL in Taipei. The whole team made my 2 week an unforgettable experience - from my fantastic teacher Bo Ruei to social organiser extraordinaire Sunny and the amazing Riona - everyone put so much effort in to making sure I felt welcomed, was enjoying my studies and had a great environment in which to meet and make friends. The beginner group classes were really fun and engaging, with studies progressing at a manageable but still challenging pace. Bo Ruei was such a great teacher and I am very grateful to have spent my 2 weeks with him! I also opted for the home stay option which I would highly recommend for a fully immersive experience. My home stay ‘aunties’ were so welcoming and caring and taught me lots about Taiwanese culture - I particularly enjoyed watching our nightly C-drama shows! A huge thank you to everyone at LTL and my home stay family for making my stay in Taiwan so memorable. Hopefully I’ll be back again!

I had a great time over 2 weeks in Chengdu with LTL. Panpan is a great teacher who helped tailor the lessons according to my level and interests. She is very kind in explaining any confusion and corrects my mistakes in grammar and pronunciation. She also gives great suggestion of the activities and sightseeing spots around Chengdu. Ying laoshi helped me well with onboarding, and I was well accommodated upon arrival. Giulia and Alex also brought me around Chengdu after class to watch Sichuan opera and try local cuisine.

I really enjoyed learning Chinese with Winnie. She is a very caring and patient teacher, and her teaching style feels more like learning with a friend than being in a traditional classroom. She is genuinely interested in her students’ lives and always takes the time to understand what we are interested in. What I especially appreciated was how she shared her knowledge of China beyond just the language. We often talked about Chinese culture, history, politics, and the economy, which helped me understand China from a much broader perspective. Winnie makes learning Chinese feel natural, interesting, and personal. I’m very grateful for all the time and care she puts into her students.

I really liked my one week of language School LTL. I learned and practiced a lot. And my teacher Alex and her collegeues Wuyi and Panpan were so helpful and we had so much fun. I also learned many things about their daily culture during the lessons. Even in the breaks all students and teachers spoke chinese so you can also practice it in daily conversation with familiar people. And it was also easy to meet other students, also during the after class activities. The school is in a nicr area with many shoppingmalls.

I had a really lovely experience at LTL Shanghai, especially thanks to Jason, Weiwei and Winnie. I spent 6 months here, starting at A1 level and leaving with C1. Teachers were always so kind and helpful, and even outside of the school they were happy to share things about Chinese culture and everyday life in Shanghai with me. Everyone at LTL was very friendly and patient, and I never felt embarrassed about asking questions, even when I needed help with something quite simple. Winnie also gave me lots of useful advice about life in Shanghai and helped me understand some of the cultural differences that I wouldn’t have noticed by myself. It made my time in Shanghai feel much more personal and enjoyable. I really appreciated how welcoming everyone was and how willing they were to share their knowledge and experience of China. I not only learned the language, but also a lot about the culture and history.

My daughter took a 2 weeks summer camp in Taiwan. Teaching quality is not a matter I want to raise here but a lot of issues unraveled during the camp 1) she was put in a class that was not for her level as there was too many students already in the class adapted to her level. She was put in a lower level and did not learn much. 2) the accommodation was shady: there was a sign at the door asking to lie in case of a visit by a government inspector. They were advised to say that the host was out. N.B: all students sharing the apartment were minors. 3) No windows in the shared apartment 4) The shared apartment was never cleaned. Organizers were expecting minors to clean the apartment but this info had never been released before signing up for the camp. 5) I paid for my daughter to have her private room but she ended up having to sleep in the bedroom of the person staying full time in the apartment. She also had to share her bathroom. It was gross. 6) the apartment was a nest for cockroaches 7) breakfasts were not included, expect once a week. White square bread from a 7/11 was in the menu 8) the restaurants were they were brought for lunch was different every day but the food served always the same 9) the evening meals were not included, which we came as a surprise. Luckily my daughter had enough cash with her to pay for her evening meals. Imagine sending your child at the other end of the planet only to discover she would not be able to pay for her diner?!!! 10) Outings were taking place with all students, adults and children. It was a very large group with a lot of time wasted to wait for everyone each time and to pay entrances 11) outing to the theater: they were allowed to give a quick look at the place but the never attended any performance. This camp has been a big disappointment considering the cost of the camp, of the accommodation and the online videos where students boasting the quality of the camps. A total rip off.
I came to LTL Cheng Du class with my classmates from the 5th of semptember to the 19th and I must say that this has been the best experience of my life. Every teacher, especially ours (Mr. Wu Yì), was very welcoming and entertaining during lessons, making them easier for us. Despite not being perfectly fluent in chinese, our teacher was very comprehensive with us, he shared many stories with us about Chengdu and chinese traditions/culture. We couldn't have been more happy with how this turned out.

I stayed a total of three months at LTL Beijing, with a mix of group classes and individual 1-on-1 lessons. The experience as a whole has been very positive, from the registration process (where my assigned student advisor was great) to the lessons themselves, which managed to raise my initially very rusty Mandarin level enough to now be able to get through daily life quite comfortably (including getting a haircut!). A particularly big thank you therefore to my two teachers – Lilian老师 and Sara 老师 – for their patience and engagement! The lessons with them were very interactive, focused, and overall an enjoyable and educative experience – 感谢你们!

This was my second time returning to LTL Taipei for traditional Mandarin classes and the experience was just as great as before. The teachers at LTL do an amazing job at explaining grammar topics, providing speaking practice, and complicated characters. I also found group lessons to be very helpful as your able to bounce ideas off others students and practice speaking with them! You'll build language skills and make friends that will last a lifetime- I can't recommend LTL Taipei enough!

Last year’s LTL experience was in Hanoi. This summer, I studied in Saigon. The teachers are highly skilled, and the staff takes excellent care of students. In only three weeks, I have gained enough knowledge to continue learning via self-study upon my return home. I recommend both the homestay and Safari options. Living with a Vietnamese family and taking field trips with your teacher will give you cultural insights beyond the classroom. LTL gives lots of bang for the buck!
