Excellent so far. The Foundation, Levels 1-36 really provide the necessary skills to learn Mandarin characters on your own, with the OCLO in place. Previously I struggled with writing characters, and would often confuse similar looking characters. Now, with props and recognising components, it helps so much that discerning the specific character is so much easier. Now I can even write characters from memory, after a bit of thinking (recalling the Movie). Currently in Intermediate, where hopefully frequent exposure to vocab would consolidate them.

I've been studying with the MB method for almost a year and it is so consistent and fun that makes me always learn a little bit more everyday. I realized my level of Chinese has improved a lot in a matter of months. It is worth it a lot.

I've tried learning Mandarin before, in a classroom and on my own, and it never quite stuck. Mandarin Blueprint is the first time it has really clicked for me, and I'm so glad I gave it a go.
I started in mid-August. Two months later, I can read characters without pinyin, and I actually remember their meanings and tones. Pronunciation is still a work in progress, but the sentence practice and language islands are helping me get there, one step at a time.
What I love most is that the system keeps getting better and better. It's the first online program I've used that feels like it's growing alongside me.
Each tutor lesson can feel a little different, but the post-lesson notes tie everything together beautifully. I always know what we covered and what to focus on next.
If Mandarin hasn't stuck for you before, try this one. It might surprise you the way it surprised me.

This method may seem confusing, even overly complicated at first, compared to rote learning, but I'll have to tell you that it is TOTALLY WORTH IT.
Don't fear the unknown, don't fear having to spend a little effort, your future results will prove that you have nothing to fear! Everything gets easier then easier later on, and I am glad I have discovered Mandarin Blueprint in my first year of pursuing Mandarin fluency.

The course is well structured towards an outcome which can be planned, in function of effort and commitment. The methods and tools are logical and provide confidence in achieving the desired result.
I studied Mandarin for a while on Duolingo (they refreshed their curse 3 times while I was studying), whereas MB is logical and practical from the beginning.
I recommend it, regardless of the level of knowledge. I am confident, I will achieve my goals and any other student will do the same.

One day I was searching for how to start learning mandarin, and then I stumbled upon a roadmap video from "Mandarin Blueprint" and this is when my journey started. I watched their pronunciation video and heard about their course and after that without any delay I joined MB lite and I'm grateful i did so. It is THE BEST course for learning mandarin and I'm literally happy seeing my progress!!! I just completed level 7 and i remember all of the characters and words i learned. Been learning Chinese on and (much more) off for years. Used a different app for three years and still couldn't say much. Started Mandarin Blueprint four months ago, have not missed a day. Their method and course encourages you to build a strong foundation with (a) daily reviews; (b) new vocab & then review that; (c) pronunciation practice; (d) speaking and listening; (e) sentence creation and recollection by both reading and typing pinyin and recognition of characters; and more recently (f) graded reading short paragraphs, (yes that is right I am able to read and understand eg 80-90% of their selective paragraphs after just four months).
On the one hand you need a lot of time to do all of these steps and only a small proportion is spent acquiring new vocab so progress feels slow, on the other hand all four skills (reading, listening, speaking and writing) are building the base for fluency. I only wish I had discovered them three years ago when I started the other app... If I can continue to put the hours in and the motivation up, I estimate being able to speak freely in 2.5-3years. Highly recommended if you are serious about learning Chinese.

I have made many attempts to speak Mandarin, and while I was OK-ish I was very unhappy I failed to make any progress beyond the basics. Just a few weeks into this program I have made more progress than I thought ever possible. Able now to read Mandarin without PinYin covering the initial basics, and with a large group of likeminded learners, I feel as if I am in my language "forever home". Highly recommended, as the best by far of anything I have tried.

This is an excellent course that takes you logically through Mandarin pronunciation. It has given me confidence to accurately produce the sounds of Mandarin whilst being able to better listen to and differentiate similar tone pairs.

Outstanding set of integrated pedagogical tool for lerning Mandarin Chinese.
This integrated set of pedagogical tools, including inumerable videos, audio pronunciation instructions, Traverse flashcards, a many thousand-strong user community and now a helpful web app, might be the best single resource for learning Mandarin Chinese. The material is high quality, and frequently updated. Customer support is laudable: responsive, helpful, and cheerful. It is organized wisely, insisting that one learns the basics first: hanzi writing, pinyin writing, and correct pronunciation before proceeding with more complicated aspects of Mandarin. The instructors are quite experienced, and provide numerous tips that are likely missing from other Mandarin learning program. For me the time and $ I invested have been resources well-spent.
