Especially with the blended course, they're offering. It is modern, innovative and fast method, how to learn and improve Chinese. Before I started to study at Silk mandarin I was struggling a lot with chinese and I couldn't find the right way, how to study chinese, it was hard. When I started to studied at Silk mandarine, I found, that learning chinese is not so hard, especially if you have amazing method and great teacher. Teachers at Silk mandarin are very friendly and they are explaining, chinese grammar in very easy way, so everyone can understand. I'm really happy that I started to study with Silk mandarin. I like Silk Mandarin because they use methods that suit me.
I like Silk Mandarin because they use a effective and engaging teaching method for language learning. They provide excellent learning materials, such as flashcards and the reading pen, which help expand vocabulary and improve pronunciation.
In addition, Silk Mandarin offers two learning options: group classes or private lessons. This was great for me because I was able to choose the format that best fit my family life and studies without neglecting my children.
At Silk Mandarin, the teachers carefully monitor your progress and take the time to reinforce any topics whenever additional support is needed.
My experience with Silk Mandarin was great!I’ve tried to learn Mandarin by different methods, but the method of Silk Mandarin is far away the best. The method is very helpful and structured and with the guidance of the teachers, helps the students a lot.My teacher Jane ,was very skilful, helpful and supportive. The environment was very good and the staff was very friendly!
Mainly the teaching method that has three parts, the preview part for the self study for a quick overview of the face to face session, that helped me to understand more the class and be fully involved. Also after the class I had the review section that summarized the class and sometimes with small real videos made by the school. So this method worked well for me as I mastered the HSK1 mainly the the tones that were a big problem for me. So I will recommend this to anyone who is looking for an efficient way to learn Chinese.
Silk Mandarin is an excellent resource for learning Mandarin Chinese. I am at about HSK2 level, and had a lot of mandarin vocabulary, grammar, word order, and phrases swimming around in my head from a lot of self-study. Their "Slow Motion Technique" really helped me to order my existing information and knowledge into something that was logical and understandable, so I could untangle complex grammar to allow me to actually speak in real Mandarin sentences and understand real Mandarin conversations. Combined with an excellent teacher (Christina), I have found it to be practical approach to Mandarin learning and I would highly recommend it.
Great teachers, great resources, great motivation!
At first, I was trying to find a chinese course to start and just learn a little bit of it and see If im interested in doing it for a long time, then I found Silk Mandarin and everything has gone smoothly since the beginning. I have teacher Christina and she has been so patient and helpful during this process, teaching me in different ways about grammar, vocabulary and also teaching me about the realistic things I would encounter in a normal conversation in China. It made me fall in love with the language and want to continue learning more and more, I will definitely continue with them and will recommend to anyone who is thinking on starting. There is a lot of practice, resources and guidance so you won't feel lost and it will actually make it feel easier.
I have used Silk Mandarin previously and am using them again because they are consistently the best language school in China. So far I have completed HSK1 and am in the middle of HSK2. The teachers are very kind and excellent teachers- I have learned so much in a short space of time. They are always professional and the lesson materials are comprehensive and really visual. The teacher is always very well prepared for the lesson and I feel like I learn new things, plus there are lots of recaps. The price is very reasonable for what you get. I will definitely stick with SilkMandarin to continue my Chinese language journey.
It’s our first time in Silk Mandarin for Spring Camp, I am very happy that my son is very happy to be there.
All the teachers and staff are very friends, careful and responsible.
The high light of the camp for my son was the activities in the afternoons, he loves to go out with other kids and do things together. It’s so much fun he told me.
The combination and atmosphere is great! I definitely recommend Silk Mandarin to families who have similar situation, half Chinese living in abroad.
We may come again next year:)

I started re-learning with Silk Mandarin almost 2 years ago. The teaching method with their tagline: "what comes first, we say it first" is really helpful to gather logical understanding in Chinese grammar. It's very unique and useful.
I don’t have a specific target in the short term, but I believe consistent study will gradually improve my Chinese. The Silk Mandarin teachers strongly encourage me and patiently address all of my questions.
I have really enjoyed my learning experience with Silk Mandarin. If you are frustrated with outdated learning models like I was try Silk Mandarin. When I first started to learn I was curious about the language and culture. I was learning for personal enrichment and to be able to travel to China one day. I picked a teacher here in the United States who used a text book that was very old. Also, it was about college students only and I found the conversations boring. Additionally, if I got a tone wrong or mispronounced a word more than once I was told to study more and I started to feel bad and didn’t want to go anymore.
Then I saw a casual conversation on Instagram from Silk Manderin advertising language learning. The people were diverse and were having a normal fun conversation. That was over two years ago now. I love meeting with my teacher as she is cheerful and fun. She encourages me to do better without making me feel bad. I am finally able to read and understand basic things. I can even write some characters. I can practice with the online platform and I find it modern with a variety of conversations. I can really enjoy learning the language. I believe we should all try to learn about different cultures.
Silk Mandarin has been quite helpful in teaching Chinese. I have been learning with them for a little over a month and have had a good time learning online. They've been considerate of my schedule, and my teacher Evelyn aims to adapt our lessons based on my needs or concerns.
Silk Mandarin was highly recommended to me by a colleague and it has not disappointed. Yanqin is an extremely professional teacher who is diligent and facilitated excellent 1-on-1 online classes. The course content was fresh and very relevant for my career. Yanqin provided notes and recommendations after every class, making it easier for me to stay on track.
Great language instruction. The teachers and administrative staff are very nice and helpful. Learning Chinese can be intimidating and they help you feel supported and capable of learning. Good educational materials and integrated applications bring lots of opportunities for listening and practice.
I had an outstanding experience at this language school! The teaching methods are truly exceptional—engaging, effective, and tailored to help every student succeed. They provide a wealth of online materials, making it easy to continue learning outside of class. What really sets them apart is the high level of interaction; lessons are dynamic, and the instructors make sure everyone participates and improves. I can confidently say this school makes learning a new language both enjoyable and highly effective.
In the past, I had many schools/resources to study Chinese and I can say that Silk Mandarin is the best one without a doubt. I got study both in-person and online and the staff is very friendly and amazing.
The resources and materials are amazing. Very helpful online videos and the teachers are extremely attentive with polished lessons.
Ive found it very easy to start learning and you are given much help in order to succeed.
I also found the price to be very competitive
I have been learning Chinese for almost 2 years and was looking for a different way to practice to bring a bit of novelty into my learning method.
Silk mandarin helped me organizing my way of learning through efficient preview/review exercises. I like the idea of learning stuff on my own first and then getting to use it with the teacher.
I have been studying with an really good teacher that is both encouraging and fun.
I had always wanted to start learning Mandarin because it genuinely interested me. I already have lots of experience with European languages, but I wanted to branch out and challenge myself with something completely different, and Chinese had always tickled my fancy.
From the very first contact, my experience with Silk Mandarin has been excellent. Lily was incredibly helpful from the start, explaining everything clearly through messages and even arranging a Zoom call to go through the course structure. She was always available to answer questions and resolve any doubts, she is a truly fabulous member of the team.
My teacher, Evelyn, is absolutely amazing! I study one-to-one on the part-time online course, and she is patient, encouraging and extremely professional. Thanks to her teaching, I am already gaining confidence in speaking Mandarin, which I never expected so early on. I am currently studying for HSK1 and fully intend to continue with further courses at Silk Mandarin to keep progressing with my Chinese and HSK levels.
The online learning platform is very well designed and detailed, with clear videos that help you start practising Mandarin from day one. Apart from the fixed weekly class, I have complete flexibility to organise my self-study around my own schedule, which is ideal. The online materials, videos and examples complement the live classes perfectly and make the learning process much more effective.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Silk Mandarin. It is extremely beginner-friendly, fun and interactive, and you can really see your progress from lesson to lesson. It has been a brilliant experience so far, and I am very excited to continue my Mandarin journey with them.
Before joining Silk Mandarin, learning mandarin was something that I struggled with. Finding the right direction and more importantly the right pacing, was something I found difficult when tackling a language like mandarin on my own. Choosing Silk Mandarin helped me discover a better path forward and introduced me to a community of wonderful people. All of the team members have been very nice and helpful during my stay in Shanghai, and the teachers have been respectful and easy to understand. I've met a variety of interesting people from different parts of the world all seeking to learn mandarin. The course itself has been well structured and easy to follow as someone who enjoys both online learning and in-person instruction.
Overall, my time at Silk Mandarin has been very memorable and has given me the motivation to further my education in mandarin.
