"I have 5 cameras with a recorder. Updates never happen. After contacting the company with many emails, they did nothing. Each camera has different firmware, and the recorder itself hasn't had any updates since day one. Support is zero. They sell a product and nothing more. Beyond that, no updates for security gaps or anything. I would not recommend it."
Useless. Bought 2 SH45's, worked well in the first few weeks or so. Setting up was a nightmare but connected it using the broadband cable and was easy, if only they don't glamorise connecting wirelessly!! We went overseas and noticed the screen was just black while checking on the cameras, obviously couldn't do anything. Came back and spent the next few months back and forth between July 2023 and March 2024 with the retailer. They sent me two replacements, both did not work and I had to pay the courier charges both times. I asked for a different model and later the other camera decided to fail. I got the 2 replacements and they have worked fine but quality is substandard for an outdoor camera. The SRICAM app is another story. Cannot download if away from the cameras. Recordings don't autoplay. No playback speed if not downloaded. Can only view on app and not on laptop. I think the retailer knows about these issues as the price on their website fluctuates which makes me believe the cameras that are returned, are repaired and re-sold.
A friend who install cctv systems gave me a Sricam surveillance as a gift. I installed it and it worked well. I then purchased three more myself and installed a second camera one month after the first.
All worked well for approx two months then both cameras died simultaneously! I tried reinstalling software and reconnecting the cameras for hours before giving up. Strange how both died at exactly the same time?
I just discovered the other two cameras still boxed and wasted another two hours pointlessly trying to get them working. You go through the lengthy process of bleeps pings and ‘crashes resets’ before giving up. Are these simply Chinese surveillance cameras the Chinese use to peep into our lives before switching off as soon as they see “nothing to see here”? So to summerise. Yet more cheap useless Chinese junk that we buy in good faith then throw away. Go with someone reputable like Ring etc. or save yourself time and frustration and flush some cash down the toilet.
