When selecting our installers we focus on only working with the most skilled crews including the one who installed your kitchen floor. We are disappointed that you found him difficult to work with but typically receive glowing feedback in regards to his work and professionalism. Your feedback on the floor also has us disappointed as the Alterna product is a commercial grade floor with a Lifetime Wear Warranty and is typically extremely scratch resistant; sadly, nothing is scratch proof. It also is considered a light maintenance floor depending on the traffic level; typically all that is required is either a dry mop or a vacuum and occasional damp moping or damp rag for deeper cleans and the cleaning of spills. And you are absolutely correct, while felt pads are excellent options they typically need to be replaced about once a year due to the collection of dust particles and the reduction in adhesive efficiency over time. Per our records, we were sent the wrong hardwood color and were reliant on the manufacturer to supply us with the replacement in a timely fashion. With your tight timeline, we can understand and share your frustration in the delay especially with the back-order on the necessary transition strips. Sadly delays like this are apart of our industry and we always strive to move on them as quickly as possible. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience Chad. You are absolutely correct, your experience is not up to our standards. Your original project manager is no longer with Mercers and his departure is what caused a part of the issues that we had with your stair runner project that has since been completely refunded. We attempted to clean up his mistake as best as possible but were not able to assist you like we would have preferred.
