Worst airline! Be careful when you pack your luggage bag. Even you have two person with 23Kg x 2, if you only pack one luggage bag and exceed 23Kg they will charge you extras or you have to pay extras to buy cardboard for repacking your items. It seem like they knew they can charge you extras for that. Really lousy service.
We bought two tickets from Hanoi to Hoi an with Vietnam Airlines, but it was operated by Pacific Airlines. Once on board, they had us on the plane for 118 minutes, that is, about 2 hours. Very little information about the reason. Initially they talked about rain although not a single drop fell. After 45 minutes without more information, we had to talk to them so that they could update our status. In all this time, not a single drink, despite the fact that they are obliged if 2 hours pass. We have claimed but they wash their hands. They argue that the waiting time was due to "technical reasons" very different from what we had been told about meteorological reasons. They also argue that although time delay was close to 2h (for 2 minutes!), these were not fulfilled and that is why they are not obliged to serve a drink... Very bad experience. Not advisable at all.
This is the first and last time I buy a ticket fly with them. I bought 2 tickets with them before the pandemic. As the pandemic came, I couldn't use them. They were delaying with vouchers all time my money back. I accepted due to I understand the covid situation for all tourist industry. Now, Vietnam is open and my vouchers expired next Octuber. I asked them to extend, due to I moved to a new job and I wasn't able to use before. For sure, they refused, because Vietnam is opened. I asked again to my new boss and he agreed to advance my vacations. The big surprise, after more than 10 emails telling that vouchers can be used for anyone, I cannot use for anyone, they said voucher and passport should be equal, so, what are we playing? The second voucher was for a person who died and never could fly. They should return the money back, according to the flight laws, but they also refuse to return it!. Never again I will buy any ticket with them: email communication is low, and you have cheaper options with better flights to Vietnam. Take note of my personal experience and be aware if something happen you won't see your money back
