We’re truly sorry that this shipment did not meet the expectations created by your previous successful experiences with Shippn. We’d like to address the main concern regarding the shipping cost, as there appears to be a misunderstanding about the package dimensions that were used for the carrier calculation. In your review, the measurements you used after receiving the parcel appear to be those of the interior product box only. However, the shipping charge was calculated using the outer shipping carton that was actually handed to the carrier. The outer carton was considerably larger because additional protective packaging was used to ensure the bag arrived safely during international transit. International carriers such as FedEx, DHL, and UPS charge based on whichever is greater: the actual weight or the volumetric (dimensional) weight of the fully packed parcel. In this case, the outer carton had a volumetric weight of approximately 4.5 kg, which is why the final shipping charge was higher than the estimate generated from the product box dimensions alone. Using only the inner box measurements after delivery will naturally produce a much lower result, but those measurements do not represent the package that was actually shipped. The larger outer box was not used to increase the shipping fee, but to provide sufficient protection for the bag and its packaging during international transportation. We also understand your confusion regarding the information in our FAQ. The calculator provides an estimate, while the final shipping cost is determined after the host measures and weighs the fully packed shipment, including any protective outer packaging required for safe delivery. We appreciate your feedback on how this could be communicated more clearly and will review the wording of the relevant sections. Regarding the delays in communication from both the host and our support team, we sincerely apologize. We understand how frustrating it is to wait for confirmation that a package has been received and prepared for shipment, and we agree that the experience should have been smoother.
