No protection and no help
There was a time when Alibaba was THE platform for EU companies to easy and Secure access to Chinese suppliers and manufactures. This was primary because you were protected against shady businesses via legal support within the platform. THESE DAYS ARE OVER! My company has Pro Buyer staus which is offered to buyers who spent more than USD 500,000 anually. The primary benefit is extended legal support. However this support apparently is now solely based on an ai logarithm with generic answers and no Way to object as it always support the supplier no matter what evidence you provide. My advice is to find another Way to do business with honest Chinese companies
