Not really what I expected from Creative Labs
I purchased a Creative Soundblaster X4, read the reviews and thought yep that's for me. I use with my PC and a Creative T7900 7.1 speaker system. The purchase process was easy, I bought direct from Creative at a £30 saving over other retailers. I received the X4 very quickly, I plugged in to my PC running Windows 11, X670e Chipset and loaded the drivers, all going well at this stage. The PC restarted which was when the problems started. The windows startup wave was jittery, thought nothing of it until I tried to play some music on Youtube, both video and music jittery. I went to control panel and unloaded the drivers then reinstalled, this resolved the problem, or so I thought. I set up all the speakers and had a rumage around the software, I have to say I was well impressed. The sound when coupled up is AMAZING. I then turned off my PC and went to bed. I restarted the PC a couple of days later and was greeted with same issue once again. I contacted Creative Support who were very helpful, they sent a tool to run diagnostics that I sent back to them, after about 5 days or so they came back to me to tell me they were investigating the issue and would come back to me, which they did a couple of days afterward. The reason for the issue appears to be compatibility and no further troubleshooting would provide a solution. I have to say this is very disappointing for a new soundcard that is supposed to be compatible with Windows 11, although to be fair I don't know what the compatibility issue between my PC and the X4 actually is as Creative have not advised. Creative have offered another item, alternative replacement, however nothing else in their website offers what I want. I don't really want a refund, I just want it to work.
