A £2,000 hunk of junk
A £2,000 hunk of junk, with aftersales that reeks of just don’t care. After 16 years our previous faithful Rangemaster fridge freezer gave up, so we immediately replaced (foolishly) with a new RXD side by side. A snip at £1,900. Problems started immediately, with doors that did not line up. The retailer passed us onto Rangemaster. Rangemaster passed us to Pacifica (avoid avoid avoid) and they passed us to an incompetent sub contractor. They tried and failed to align the doors, resorting to mole grips to try and bend the metal fixings. Anyway after much fuss, it got sorted. Since then, we’ve been plagued by issues - mostly the fridge not defrosting and then overheating. This weekend, it died at just 3 years old. I reckon that’s £600 a year. I called Rangemaster Customer Services for help as per the website guidance. The IVR redirected me to Pacifica (still avoid avoid avoid). First, they picked up the call after a wait, then no one spoke. Then I got an offshore contact centre who could not understand me. Nor me them. They would not help with a repair enquiry out of warranty, and only kept repeating I was not on the system so could not help. Eventually I was given a different Pacifica number … and rather than being able to talk to someone to discuss options, went through an AI automated IVR to book an appointment. AGA Rangemaster - you are a premium priced product. Why do you care so little about your customers? And why do you subcontract to could not care less buffoons. Two grand down the toilet. Premium name. Premium (alleged) product. Ultimate in poor service. AGA Rangemaster fridges? Cannot Recommend A Purchase. *** Update *** Just paid for a repairer and they confirmed faulty compressor and knackered inverter. This SHOULD NOT happen to a three year old, two grand appliance. Shameful brand.
