Luggage forward is an amazing service
Luggage forward is an amazing service, especially for seniors who have difficulty managing large bags. In our case, after taking a 15-day cruise of the British Isles, we had planned to board a scenic train from Bergen to Oslo. After making the initial arrangements, I realized how difficult it would be for two women in their late 60s to manage getting 5 pieces of luggage on and off the train by ourselves. Then I discovered information about Luggage Forward in the information provided by the cruise line. It was the perfect solution to our problem. There were a few minor hiccups, which I will describe below, but overall it is an amazing service that I will definitely use again. Now, onto the hiccups. 1. The form for booking the Luggage Forward service does not ask when your trip will begin. As a result, they had initially planned to send their luggage tags to my home address long after I had departed. Fortunately, I noticed this discrepancy several weeks before our trip and contacted the support team. The sent the tags right away so we were all set. 2. The instructions for packing advise customers to remove all airtags and/or other tracking devices, even though they are deemed safe by the airlines. I would have preferred to keep my airtags in my luggage, particularly given the next hiccup. 3. Luggage Forward provides a link for tracking the progress and location of your luggage. In our case, we sent two large bags home, but the tra cking link gave a single map and report for both bags. One of our bags arrived before the other, but the tracking site, because it does not track the bags separately, indicated that our luggage had been delivered, which had me very worried. One possible workaround, would be to initiate a separate "Luggage Forward" purchase for each bag.
