Died one day - replaced by an upgraded refurbished machine
It worked fine in the beginning. But cheap plastic parts broke and replacement cost was another £50. After 2 years, the machine just stopped working. There was no support or repair offered. We were advised to buy another £1000 machine with free shipping. At this price, one would expect better quality and support. What started off as a pleasant experience, ended as a pretty bitter one. UPDATE 22 Nov 2022: Rotimatic has since been in touch. After profuse apologies, they have offered three options: Part replacement/repair - 480USD plus taxes, Remanufacture machine - discounted pricing of 599USD plus taxes, New machine - full price with free shipping voucher. Ridiculous...Daylight robbery! When you buy a product for 1000USD and it breaks down in less than 2 years, one expects better service than this. I would not spend a penny more on such an unreliable product and a Company which is already selling refurbished machines...within 6 years of launching the product. That says something! UPDATE 25 Nov 2022 After further emails and calls from Rotimatic, spoke to Mr Amit who offered 'free' repair if we paid $300 in shipping cost. Not sure whether to laugh or cry. 3 years ago, the product had let us down. Now the company and its ethos are. Most $1000 products these days come with 10 year or lifetime warranty. Rotimatic service is based on ransome. You cannot get it repaired anywhere. So you either lose 1000usd or shell out further 300usd. Sunk cost I say. Oh BTW, I was told that their product is perfect. Apparently there are 'mini power surges' in the UK that cause short circuiting of the motherboard or 'customers' don't follow deep cleaning instructions. So beware people in the UK...your machine may short circuit one fine morning! UPDATE 21 Dec 2022 After a lot of back and forth, conversations around sustainability, repair and customer expectations/service, Rotimatic agreed to replace the current brokendown machine with an upgraded refurbished one. I am glad to acknowledge that they have taken the responsibility for their product and done right by us. I hope that they offer repair on a regular basis for all customers. The planet needs it.
