Anthropologie

Do NOT shop here

This is a follow up review - the previous response to my review is very misleading , it appears as if anthropology have sorted the issue without any prompting at all from me. Because I was so stressed about not receiving my refund after they returned the items to me on 17 July (with no explanation) I had no choice but to take the items to an Anthropologie store in Leeds and return them in person on 19 July. The store accepted the return without any issue and provided me with a receipt confirming that I would receive a full refund of £190, which was the full value of my order. The returns policy clearly states that returns made in store are free of charge. However, after returning the items in store, I then received an email from the online returns team stating that my postal return had been accepted and that a returns fee had been deducted. This makes no sense, given that the items had already been accepted and returned in store. They also responded to my Trustpilot review stating that the matter had been resolved and that I had been refunded. That is only because I was forced to make a second return in person after they returned the items to me without explanation. This situation was not resolved by customer service—it was resolved because I went to considerable effort, despite my health, to sort it out myself. To provide some context, I have been seriously unwell for the past year with Long COVID, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, and autonomic dysfunction. I am currently unable to drive and struggle with walking long distances. Heat significantly worsens my symptoms. On the day I had to travel to Leeds, I had to: Take an Uber to my local train station, as I am currently unable to drive. Wait approximately 15 minutes for the train. Travel around 20 minutes to Leeds. Walk approximately 10-15 minutes to the Anthropologie store. Repeat the entire journey home. In total, this involved around two hours of travelling and walking, much of it in extremely hot weather. This caused a significant worsening of my symptoms and could have been entirely avoided had my original postal return been processed correctly. I also had to be accompanied by a family member, they had to cancel other plans in order to travel to Leeds. I would therefore like answers to the following: (because you have not responded via email) Why were my returned items sent back to me in the first place? Why did I later receive an email stating that my postal return had been accepted after I had already returned the items successfully in store? Why has a returns fee been deducted when my refund was processed through an in-store return, which your own policy states is free? When will the deducted returns fee be refunded to my account? What compensation do you intend to offer for the unnecessary inconvenience, stress, additional expense, and the impact this has had on my health? This entire situation has been completely avoidable and has caused me a significant amount of distress at a time when I am already dealing with serious health issues. I tried to order some new clothes to cheer myself up! I expect a full explanation together with reimbursement of the incorrectly deducted returns fee and details of the compensation you propose.
