Trade Assurance is a scam
Trade Assurance? In my experience, an expensive illusion of protection. I spent thousands of dollars trusting Alibaba’s platform and its supposed buyer protection. When things went wrong, I was left chasing my money, repeatedly submitting evidence and receiving responses that failed to address the substance of my complaint. The final result? A refund of ZERO. I feel utterly scammed. Not just by the transaction itself, but by the reassurance that Trade Assurance would provide meaningful protection if I needed it. That reassurance was precisely why I felt comfortable paying. When it actually mattered, it was worthless to me. The complaint handling was appalling. Repetitive demands, generic replies and a final decision that left fundamental questions unanswered. Dressing that up in polite language about “appreciating my patience” only makes it more insulting. My patience does not pay my bills or replace my missing money. What exactly was being assured? Certainly not a satisfactory resolution, a clear explanation or protection from being left out of pocket. As a small business owner, I find this disgraceful. Businesses work hard for their money. We deserve more than comforting marketing followed by an exhausting dispute process and a dismissive refusal. I have now disputed the transaction with my bank because Alibaba’s process has failed me. My advice to other businesses: do not mistake the words “Trade Assurance” for a guarantee that your money is safe. I trusted them, and I deeply regret it. One star is generous.
