Very disappointing returns policy
I ordered a ring as a Christmas present that was discounted so it cost £83.30 instead of £119. This is still massively expensive but I knew the person I was buying it for would love it. The ring is too big (even though I used the sizing tool on the website) and so I need to send it back for an exchange (one of the reasons I was happy to buy from this website was the exchange policy). What I did not realise is that I have to pay for postage from UK to Singapore, I have to pay the price difference from the original discounted item as the exchange is not included in the discount (£35.70) and I have to pay for the postage for the new ring back to the UK. I would never have ordered had I realised. This is going to be well over £50! Customer service has been prompt and helpful, but I think the policy to not include the original discount is shocking and now I am left with a Christmas present that the recipient cannot wear, and I can't afford the exchange process. Really disappointing. Will not be ordering from Ask & Embla again. I think this needs to be made much more clear when ordering Christmas presents and does not feel in the spirit of the holiday!
