Size-inclusive. Yes! Quality? Not here.
Size-inclusive, well-fitting underwear? SKIMS is definitely up there. Quality matching the price tag? Apparently that was optional. I bought two bras in May last year, retailing at $86 each. Thankfully, I got them on sale, because today both bras are officially deceased. The fabric has ripped for absolutely no apparent reason, despite each bra being worn only around four times a month. For context: a bra should reasonably survive around 150 wears. At 4 wears a month for 15 months, we're looking at roughly 60 wears. That is less than half of the expected lifespan. For an $86 bra… I contacted customer service, hoping for an actual solution. Instead, I was generously offered the equivalent of a middle finger to the face: a royal 20% discount on my next purchase. Below a direct quote of the customer service email I received, after telling them that was pretty bad of a solution considering the wear/quality vs price: “We completely understand your concerns regarding the value and durability of the bras, especially given the price point and the amount of use you’ve gotten from them.” Which ought to have been followed by “but we do not give two flying f’s anyway. Kthxbai” but funnily enough it was not. I genuinely love that SKIMS offers size-inclusive underwear that actually fits well and looks good. That's exactly why I was willing to pay the premium. But if I'm paying premium prices, I'd also like premium longevity. My bra shouldn't have a shorter career than the average politician. Two bras. Roughly 60 wears each. Both falling apart. Diabolical.
