Excellence on and off the bike
I had been looking for mid-high end wheels for my main climbing bike and settled on the Elitewheels Drive II as the optimal choice. Originally I had considered the Helix, but due to the spoke placement (recommendation by someone in the industry), I opted for the Drive II instead. Elitewheels makes it very easy to order a mixed depth wheelset, offering it as a plug and play service, meaning that I could easily get a 36/50 setup with no hassle. Since Rainbow decals were not available there, and those were my favourite, I sent a message to customer support who promptly responded and helped me out. Thanks to the help of Aria, the order was amended for the factory and I received a glamorous Rainbow mixed depth wheelset. Almost six months and around 4000 outdoor kilometers of varied terrain outdoor riding later -- road (silky tarmac and pothole central), gravel and even rocky mtb paths with a puncture (that I realistically had no business being on) -- I can confidently state that I am delighted with the quality of the wheels as well. They look and ride as new, and as such they are a strong recommendation to anyone looking to bling their bike up for an "affordable" high end price! My only gripe is that the freewheel sound is a little too aggressive, since I don't like perceived all too much. Though it helps when riding out of/into the city because everyone can hear you coming!
