AppleCare is a waste of money
I’ve been an Apple user for more than a decade, and unfortunately I trusted AppleCare enough to buy it for all of my devices. My experience has been deeply disappointing. A few months ago, my Apple Watch Series 7 was replaced through Apple’s Express Replacement service. The replacement arrived (November 2025) with a faulty Digital Crown, and over the following months it became increasingly unresponsive. Because I rely on the watch every day for notifications and other functions, I had no choice but to request another replacement in June 2026. The second replacement, another Series 7, appears to be refurbished and has a faulty Digital Crown as well. It rotates but barely scrolls, and it feels unusually stiff. After paying for AppleCare for years, I expected reliable replacement devices. Instead, my experience has been one defective replacement after another. Paying for extended coverage has left me with frustration rather than peace of mind. My verdict, based on my experience: don’t assume AppleCare is worth the money. When I finally needed it, it failed to deliver.
