Wig ripped
So I ordered a 360 lace wig from Hermosa. It took 10 days or so to arrive, which was frustrating, but it was coming from China, so there's that. When I first opened the wig I was so excited. It was soft and full, it was shedding pretty heavily right out the bag, but I still thought I was going to love it. I had to wait a few days to try it on because I needed time to work with it and I wanted to use some purple conditioner to tone the yellow out of it. This is where everything started to go wrong. As I was getting ready to try the wig on, I found a couple of rips in the lace. I figured it wouldn't be a big deal because it was the back lace and I figured when I cut the lace down it wouldn't be noticeable when glued down. So I went ahead and washed the wig in the purple conditioner (NOT SHAMPOO) and then as I was checking the hair I found the new rips. This time they were in the wig inner cap (looks sort of like a yamaka surrounded by lace). I honestly have no idea how this happened. The wig didn't get caught on anything, and I know that because I washed it in a basin (Okay, a plastic baby tub) in my bathroom. Because of how it ripped, I was told by the wig shop staff near me that it would be more than 450 USD to do a repair because they said the inner wig cap needs to be fully replaced, that sewing it would make the wig smaller and change its fit. The wig store people told me that it's possible that the inner wig cap was previously damaged and not noticed when they were putting together the wig, or that maybe they used an old wig cap on accident. Great. Well, I tried to put it on and make due because this was a lot of money for me to spend, on my Christmas gift....and my dumbass already saved my head to wear this wig (yep, I know), but it doesn't sit right. The rips in the lace forced me to set it off centered when trying it on and I had to take off too much lace from the back. God this is a nightmare. Then, talking to Hermosa through this whole process, they are offering me a 20% refund and a 35% off discount for my next order... which if it's a discount code, it will not work because of their promotional sales.. I'd basically be paying more money for "my next wig" if I tried to use it. Full disclosure: on the day I got my wig I sent an email to Hermosa about modeling for them because I am white, they responded without confirming or denying interest and i didn't truly care, i was just so excited about a wig that i planned to use for months. Then i sent an email after the washing apologizing and resinding my offer while explaining what had happened.
