Apple states that its watches are water resistant to 50 metres. In my case, the watch has only ever been worn in a shallow swimming pool, yet Apple detected liquid inside the watch and advised that the repair would be extremely expensive. The battery life is also disappointing. I found that the watch needed charging overnight, which meant I was unable to use the sleep-tracking features consistently. For a device marketed as a health and fitness companion, this is a significant drawback. My frustration with Apple continues. Between the poor battery life and the lack of warranty support for water damage on a supposedly water-resistant device, I will now be looking at alternatives such as Samsung or other fitness trackers that offer longer battery life and better value for money.
