Disappointing experience for such an expensive product
After months of debating whether to purchase an Eight Sleep, I finally decided to give it a try after hearing so much hype about the product from influencers and reviews. Unfortunately, my experience didn’t come close to my expectations, especially for a product at this price point. From the beginning, the setup and operation were not straightforward. The system wasn’t working properly, and I spent almost two weeks troubleshooting back and forth with Eight Sleep. To their credit, I genuinely believe their customer service team was doing their best to help. However, there was often a one- or two-day lag between communications, which became frustrating when I was going night after night with a product that wasn’t functioning correctly. I followed all of their troubleshooting steps, sent photos, went through the recommended protocols, and worked with their support and engineering teams. Eventually I got the system working, but even then it was very hit or miss and seemed to function properly only about 50% of the time. When it did work, it was nice getting into a cool bed, but unfortunately I didn’t notice any meaningful improvement in my sleep or deep sleep. If anything, wondering during the night whether the system was working correctly, whether my settings were wrong, or whether I needed to troubleshoot something again sometimes made it harder to relax and fall asleep. Ultimately, I’ve decided to return it. I really wanted to love Eight Sleep and was excited to finally try it, which is probably why the experience has been so disappointing. For a product this expensive and with this much hype surrounding it, I expected a much more reliable and seamless experience.
