I had an Audible subscription under my ex husband's account (my married name at the time was Smith; now Kelley). When our divorce was finalized in Jan, 2024, I attempted to call Amazon to stop the audible subscription and they said because it was under my ex husband's name, he had to be the one to do it. I did ask him to do it, but he never got around to it, and my credit card continued to be charged. I attempted to call Amazon again and got the same response which really tied my hands. He had to be the one to cancel the audible subscription. Of course they had no problem with charging my account each month. Finally, last month I had enough and had my bank block them from charging me. I used all of my credits which I paid for to download the rest of the audio books I had paid for. I then disputed the charges which finally ended the subscription I had been paying for. Fast forward to today. I wanted to listen to a book I had paid for and I got an error message when I downloaded it saying I had to have a subscription. When I looked this up, I read that if I had paid for the books I would have lifetime of access to them. I couldn't download to listen to them. So I called Amazon and asked why I couldn't access them despite paying for the books. I did resubscribe from my new Amazon Prime account to see if that would work. They said the books I downloaded were no longer available despite my being charged for them but that I was welcome to now use my new Audible account to download the books of my choosing. I am fed up. I have attempted to work with this and now I am out hundreds of dollars of downloaded books from my ex husband's account that they continued charging me for and I cannot access the books I have paid for. I am fed up and have asked for a refund of $389.75 which is the total of the monthly charges for the subscription that I paid for since my divorce was finalized in January, 2024. I cannot access these books, and I have tried to cancel and explain things three times now.
