Hosts Bewarned
Dear fellow hosts, be warned. This is what a lousy platform is like. A guest left scratches on the car due to putting things on the top of my car. As per Drivelah, they do not compensate me because as per their policy, the scratches does not penetrate the metal body and is not a damage. In short, Drivelah is telling guests just go ahead with the scratch galore on the whole car (as long as it does not penetrate the metal body of the car), and they don't even need to worry about compensation. Drivelah also insinuates that I do not even notice any scratch on my car when I wash it and this scratch had been there throughout since the time I first rented my car. Resolution from Drivelah is it is not claimable and the cost to settle this scratch is to be borne by the host. Remember all hosts, if your car comes back with multiple scratches, it is just what your car is made for, which is for the guest to put things on the car roof to have scratches, so that your car can lead a full and valuable life 😉. The more superficial scratches your car has, the more fulfilling life it has led.
