Exercise extreme caution
I would seriously caution against downloading and running this software. I had several files that I was unsure if I had simply forgotten to transfer over to my external hard drive, or if perhaps they'd been accidentally deleted. To make sure, I downloaded recoverit. I hadn't even made it halfway through the scan before it had completely corrupted my drive. It started making a clicking noise and none of the files on it were accessible. Prior to this it had operated perfectly normal no troubles. After weeks and weeks of back and forth with customer service, getting a different agent replying to each email, asking me the same questions over and over again and eventually saying they were 'really sorry' but there was nothing they could do to fix the issue they had caused - I gave up. I have lost everything, including all my photos, my university work, my portfolio, and my freelance projects. Recoverit have offered zero compensation for my losses, nor have they offered to cover the cost of physically repairing my drive (i've been quoted $350-480). I severely regret ever downloading this software.
