luck of the draw
I purchased the Fire-Maple "Fixed Star 1" on Amazon last week, much to my dismay upon testing the stove before heading out on a planned backpacking trip, its "Achilles heel" the striker did not work, and despite YouTube videos and the instructions provided on how to remedy a solution nothing seemed to work. It's advertised on Amazon's webpage as a 30-day return and 3-year warranty however when trying to order a replacement I was told that it was ineligible for a replacement due to Hazmat regulations. Upon further searching other Amazon customers had similar experiences as well. I had to settle for a refund and a defective product, so I guess that's some kind of a win
