Do not buy a Ridstar bike. We bought a Q20 Lite as a Christmas gift. It suffered a total mechanical failure of the motor just three months after we received it. We then spent two months waiting for a replacement motor to clear customs. When we finally installed it exactly according to Ridstar’s instructions, the new motor burned out immediately out of the box because the gears completely ground themselves out. When we sent the video of the second motor, they said it was turning backwards. It is not. My son has now been without his bike for months now. When I demanded a refund under their 1-year warranty policy, customer support resorted to obvious stalling tactics, claiming they "have to wait for the owner to respond." Between the severe federal safety warnings issued by the CPSC regarding Ridstar's dangerous electrical systems and their now unhelpful customer service, this company is a massive liability. Do not risk your money or your child's safety on this absolute junk. Hindsight is 20/20 and we would have gladly paid the additional $500 for a better brand. They won't let me upload the video to share the delightful gear-grinding noise.
