I have recommended Marley Spoon to many people primarily because the food is generally wonderful, the portions generous, the recipes creative, and the instructions well done. I like that I am learning different cooking techniques and that I feel like I’m an active participant in creating some really tasty meals. So why just three stars? Primarily because both the website and customer service are sorely lacking. It is difficult to pause the subscription for more than a couple of weeks; and when looking for help, the website promotes a customer service number that simply sends you back to the same unsatisfactory website. I would also like to be able to gift subscriptions and not just give a gift card. Additionally, as a single person, I wish there was an option for single servings. All this being said, Marley Spoon is light years ahead of Blue Apron and Hello Fresh, the only two other meal kits I have tried, and I look forward to receiving my next box.
