A REAL SCAM
I went to LensCrafters for a routine exam. I'm only slightly nearsighted. I only need glasses for driving to read street signs; I don't need them for business signs or highway signs. I don't need glasses for reading at all. LensCrafters would not give me a prescription, told me I was "legally blind" and shouldn't be driving. What BS!! I can read a TV screen in the living room from the kitchen without glasses. I think they get a 'kickback' for recommending eye surgeons.
