I’m a former employee of Storage Mart as of 07/28/2026. I was terminated wrongfully. At around 12:38p, I followed policy protocol for call-in, due to having to support my husband on removing his son from life support that afternoon. I also called an individual who works in HR personally, after I did my call-in asking her to return my call. She was the one person who I felt comfortable talking to because she had been aware that I had been dealing with a number of personal problems since earlier this year. I’ve been an employee of this company for 11 years. So, when I received a callback from the company a short time after, I was thinking it was her calling me back. Well, it was her and my supervisor on a conference call, telling me that my employment with the company has been terminated. They were relaying this to me as I was watching my stepson’s respiratory level drop, because they had just removed the machine from him. I pleaded with them but there was no empathy/sympathy. Now, they gave me a bogus explanation; which I had previously discussed with my supervisor a week prior and she said she had resolved it. So, they used that lie as reason but technically, they terminated me for calling in due to a family emergency. This is the most inhumane company that anyone could possibly work for. They don’t care about the employees and they definitely rip off their customers that rent with them. God will give them their karma
