Unprofessional Experience and Poor Account Handling
I had a very disappointing experience with Elavon as a payment processor for my business. After completing just one transaction for $750, my account was immediately flagged for review. I was contacted by someone from their fraud department requesting extensive documentation to verify my business. I promptly provided my Articles of Organization along with a link to my website, which clearly outlines my services. Despite this, the representative continued to request additional documentation and, during our phone conversation, repeatedly questioned the legitimacy of my business in a way that felt excessive and unprofessional. The tone of the interaction became increasingly uncomfortable, as I felt I was being treated with suspicion rather than as a legitimate business owner attempting to comply. After explaining that I had already provided reasonable documentation and expressing that I had other options for payment processing, I was told that my account would be closed. Overall, the experience felt unnecessarily adversarial and lacking in professionalism. While I understand the importance of fraud prevention, the approach taken in this situation did not reflect a balanced or respectful process.
