No support before or after the sale.
I was referred to Hilltopper by a friend who has enjoyed having the basic conversion kit on his bike for 5 years. His memory of Hilltopper as a company has been positive. He has not needed support since purchase. So I begain to look into buying a kit to install onto my Trek mountain bike. I watched all of the videos provided by Hilltopper and looked at as much online content as possible. Honestly, its all promotional and not technical. So I called them. They are on the west coast, so I waited until 11:00est. I waited on hold for 25 minutes 3 times on day one. Twice on day two. On day three someone answered my call to the sales dept after approximately 20 minutes. He seemed to be kind of groggie. Slow to answer, vague responses, told me "I'd have to look that up." Nice, but not at all helpful. So I called back and choose tech support. Another very long hold. The guy at tech support was a little more helpful, but still I wasn't comfortable ordering several hundred dollars of hardware while still unsure it would fit my bike. So I took measurements and photographed these measuremenmts. I emailed these along with three very specific questions. That was 12 days ago. The only response has been an auto reply, acknowledging reciept of my email. Not a word since. So I've decided that Hilltopper is not for me. If it doesn't work I'd be on my own to sort it out. There isn't any real support before or after the sale. It's a shame.
