I have had the elegoo CC2 for about 2 weeks of use now. As a core it has been great. It went together with ease and i went straight to printing after calibration; no benchy!! The reason for 4 stars is more related to things that are printing related par se. - a few random times the head went crazy. Like it lost where it was. With all the automation it is sort of expected. Would be better if the head looses its coordinates it would re-home and continue - cloud is a mess. Constantly losing connection and only way to get it back is to reset the printer. And that isn’t a guarantee. - fans are loud. Initial start up is like a jet engine. The exhaust fan after each print is very loud. - software: really focused on beginner assistance. Which is great but I’m far from a beginner and the limitations are a HUGE pain. The concept that the filaments have to be selected but are limited which caused incompatibility issues is a big sore. - shoot: coming out the back is a pain. It means it needs to be so far from the wall which takes up more space. - vibration dampeners: they seem to be spring loaded. This instead because it causes more movement vs dampening it. - one side mount canvas: would be ideal if this could go on either side. - cover should have a seal in order to better seal/trap the heat. - app: great to have but needs alot of clean up. Not really something I use but now that my printers are in another room it is great to get a notice the print is done. However the constant loss in connection makes this ancillary. - WiFi connection: this SHOULD NOT auto connect to WiFi. I have noticed a few times that it has connected to an unsecure network in my neighborhood. This is a security risk. Yes; it’s hard to bind to it if found; but it shouldn’t be auto connecting networks it wasn’t asked to connect previously. There are quite a few things that need tweaking from “user experience” perspective. They focus on beginners which is great but leave out those that already know what they are doing. Making it harder than it needs to be. Since i can’t select core t filament; sending prints from the slicer is impossible because it always comes up incompatible. At the core the print seems solid. I have only printed nylon filaments in this which is the core reason i bought it. The heated chamber is great. The HEPA filter really does work. This wan noticed when dehydrating in an external and the smell coming from that. Access to the nozzle is great that it is magmatic. Super easy to change/clean. The stick bed has been great. Always adhering to the bed. The points i talk about here don’t take away from printing. I don’t have many of these features in the other 10 printers so it didn’t matter to me they don’t work or don’t work well. However, since they are there it would be great if they did just work. The biggest fix should be the connection. It hasn’t stayed connected for 24hrs since being setup.
