Alibaba Trade Assurance is Fake Protection – International Scam Experience ($1,593 Lost)
Review: I ordered goods for a total of $1,593 through Alibaba Trade Assurance in March 2026. Order numbers: • 20649196501045296 • 19944024501045296 Tracking numbers: • CY016598961DE • CY017283632DE Both parcels were marked “Delivered” by DHL, but: • There was no signature • No recipient name • No valid proof of delivery bpost (the final delivery partner in Belgium) clearly confirmed in their support chat that the parcels never arrived (“Non”). For more than 2.5 months Alibaba Mediation kept delaying the case with the same copy-paste answers. The seller lied and offered $0. Later Alibaba offered only $300 as a “goodwill” payment and threatened to close the case with $0 if I refused. I provided all evidence multiple times (DHL tracking without signature, bpost chat, payment proofs). Still no full refund. I also filed a police report and started a bank chargeback. After delivering all documents and the police report to the bank, they still delayed for weeks and finally told me it was just a “commercial dispute” between me and the seller. Conclusion: Alibaba Trade Assurance is not real protection. It is a marketing tool that gives buyers false confidence. When a real problem happens, they protect the seller and waste the buyer’s time and money for months. I strongly advise everyone: Do not trust Alibaba Trade Assurance for expensive orders. Your money can disappear while they delay and offer ridiculous partial amounts. I lost $1,593 and months of my time. Extremely disappointed and angry.
