Lifetime warranty isn't what's advertised — wheel fell off after 3 uses, charged $50 to honor it
Bought a Maxlite Air Hardside in Nov 2024. A wheel detached after three trips. Travelpro first denied the claim as "normal wear and tear" — despite their own warranty page listing wheels as covered and defining excluded wear as "abrasions, scratches, dents or stains." After I cited the warranty, they approved a replacement but demanded a $50 shipping fee. Their published warranty says plainly: "Travelpro will cover the expense of shipping the repaired or replacement bag back to you." When I pointed this out, the rationale shifted again — first blamed on "Trusted Companion" coverage, then on a "one-year shipping" rule that appears nowhere in the written warranty. Three shifting justifications, each contradicting the warranty Travelpro publishes on its own website. I own three of their bags, all bought because of the lifetime warranty. Buy elsewhere if the warranty matters to you.
