Sticking with the Playbook
Out of the two hours the webinar went, about 40-45 minutes was valuable. He mentioned three strategies that could be used, discussed timing of the PSATs to get Merit scholarships, and offered a few tips on how to obtain other scholarships, which was something I haven't explored yet. Much of the beginning was focused on Dr. Patel's credentials and experience. The last 30+ minutes or so was a huge sales pitch, which I expected, just not as hard, and in as much detail. When it came time to Q&A, people were asking questions in the chat, none of which were addressed because before he answered anything, he spent 10 minutes reading reviews, and then went into pre-determined FAQs, which had nothing to do with the group's questions because they focused primarily on the sales pitch. I had received the free Playbook, which I do feel will be quite helpful as a jumping off point, but noticed that the 5 "Kiss of Death" words he mentioned in the webinar were not anywhere close to the ones in the book (2024). I questioned whether he was actually live, but I do think that the two Customer Service people were in real time, because I did submit a question outside of the chat and received an answer. Overall, I think the webinar/informational sessions could have been half the amount of time. I probably won't be exploring the actual program beyond the practice book.
