Do not choose as a home Security System
There was a breach in May 2026 of personal information. I was not notified by email or mailed a letter. I did call to cancel and possibly negotiate terms of cancellation contract since my information was leaked and I just don’t feel safe staying on with ADT anymore because of that. All the corporate manager kept saying was “well we secured it as soon as it happened and we checked to make sure no sensitive personal information was breached”. Okay, that’s fine but my information is still out there , I received threatening scamming emails , notification that my ssn was breached to where my credit was at risk, they still did not care and penalized me for wanting to cancel. We should be able to negiciate our terms due to this breach but said I would t be able to speak to anyone else except her. Ridiculous. Charged me over $2k to cancel. I wasn’t being a “Karen” as some may think, I was very calm but frustrated of course. Don’t go with them at all there’s other better company’s out there. Especially signing up through their 3rd party company’s where they charge you separately for the equipment and make you get more than what you need. Their Sales people are jokes and just want to make a quick buck. I know all experiences are different, but mine has not been great and wish they would be more willing to work with people. I did sign initially because I’ve heard great things about adt, but at the end of the day they’re just another big company that wants money, that won’t let you leave when you’re not satisfied with their service and just want you to keep paying. Pathetic, I would not recommend this service to anyone looking for a security system, there are way better options out there.
