I wish I had read the reviews before…
I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing an AFC Home Club warranty. I had two covered claims: * Air conditioner replacement: $9,250 * Water heater replacement: $2,000 In both cases, AFC’s resolution was to offer $100. The explanation was that the equipment was old and subject to depreciation. While I understand that age can affect coverage, advertising a home warranty as protection for major home systems is misleading when the actual payout for a covered failure is only $100 toward repairs or replacements costing thousands of dollars. For my two claims totaling $11,250 in necessary repairs, AFC paid $200 total. If you’re considering this warranty to help cover expensive home system failures, make sure you fully understand how AFC depreciation is applied and what the company is actually likely to pay before purchasing.
