buried terms
I purchased a single course through a $1 promotional offer. The checkout screen displayed “$1” and “$0” as the prominent total price, while the recurring $39/month subscription charge was only disclosed in small secondary text — not clearly presented as part of the main price. I was not made aware in a clear way that I was committing to a recurring monthly charge. After the trial period, I was charged $39 without any additional confirmation. When I contacted customer support requesting a refund, I was told subscription charges are non-refundable per their policy, even though the disclosure at checkout was misleading. They did cancel future billing, but refused to refund the charge already taken. Looking at other reviews here, this appears to be a recurring pattern with this company — multiple customers report the same experience of being auto-enrolled in a subscription they didn’t clearly agree to. I’d encourage anyone considering their $1 or discounted course offers to read the full checkout page carefully before purchasing, and to check their bank statements closely afterward.
